As part of a global team, BaseComms drives communications for our 4 international studios in NYC, Brussels, Geneva, and Melbourne.
About Base Design:
Base Design is an international network of creative studios specializing in branding and communications. We are about creating cultural relevance and business impact. Located in New York, Brussels, Melbourne and Geneva, our teams bridge strategy, storytelling, design and tech to bring powerful brands with unique personalities to life — from Bozar to Apple, Dandoy to Delvaux.
Why Base Design:
For 25 years, we’ve helped brands define their unique story and place in culture. By joining our global team, you’ll gain valuable perspective and experience learning from industry thought leaders. We are hiring ambitious young professionals to join us in working with iconic brands across a variety of sectors. Base Design Brussels is B Corp certified.
About the Role:
Based full-time in our Brussels studio (Monday–Friday), you'll collaborate closely with the BaseComms team to craft engaging narratives for case studies and press outreach, while also developing captivating content for social media. This hands-on role involves copywriting, planning, and coordination to keep our communications calendar on track. You'll play a pivotal part in showcasing our work, team culture, and ideas to the world—blending organizational excellence with creative insight.
Key Responsibilities
Copywriting: Craft compelling narratives for case studies, social media captions, and press releases, ensuring a consistent voice that highlights our projects, insights, and team culture.
Social Media Coordination: Plan, prepare, and schedule posts, stories, and video content for Instagram and LinkedIn.
Content Calendar Management: Coordinate social media planning, and help to implement processes to improve efficiency and streamline workflows.
Website Management: Keep the Base website up-to-date by uploading new case studies, team bios, job listings, and news.
Press & Awards Coordination: Identify compelling narrative angles that position our projects in an engaging light, connecting them to current events and trends. Track and catalog press features and coordinate awards timings.
Newsletter Creation: Curate and compile monthly newsletter content, selecting engaging updates from all studios.
Innovative Content Development: Propose new formats and initiatives to keep our communications fresh, curious, and ahead of the curve.
What we are looking for:
Excellent copywriting skills and storytelling abilities.
Native-level English skills, both written and verbal, are essential. French or Dutch is a plus.
Studies in communication, media, journalism/writing, or a related area.
Excellent organization skills. You excel at planning, coordinating, and managing multiple tasks with precision and efficiency.
Strong communication skills, as the role requires daily dialog with all Base studios globally. The ability to collaborate well with other creatives is essential.
Social media savvy + a knack for creating engaging content.
Proactive and resourceful, with a problem-solving attitude.
Bonus: Creative talents in design, animation, or art direction are a big plus!
Program Details:
Duration: 3 - 6 months.
Start date: early February, 2025.
Hours: Full time position. Interns will be expected to work approximately 38 hours per week.
Hybrid Work Policy: We’re all in the studio on Mondays & Wednesdays, work from home on other days is possible.
Application Deadline: December 20, 2024.
