The coup de grace of the Kiki identity are the beautiful illustrations. Unbeknownst to most, these lush motifs were created from the most cliché icons of the erotic world: unicorns, handcuffs, whips, and symbols from the Garden of Eden. When strung together, they form a rich, flexible visual language that can be applied to packaging, products, architecture, and more.

To enhance the objects, we shot against historical photographs instead of the usual approach of silhouetting against white backgrounds. I found that this contributes to the overall narrative of the brand.

In an era where content is (again) king, we are increasingly focused on language to express a brand’s personality. Tone of voice plays a very important role for Kiki. At a brand level, we mixed famous quotes with generated copy, which brings both historical gravitas and creativity.
