A signage company for the COVID era

It’s safe to say the COVID-19 crisis has disrupted our daily lives and how we interact with public spaces. At work, in restaurants, hotels, shops or public transportation, we’ve had to re-think our habits to stay safe. In the meantime, makeshift signs have popped up everywhere to inform individuals on the new social distancing rules and restrictions. Although more often than not, these way-findings are unclear and confusing. We quickly realized there was an urgent need for well-designed, clear signage to make it easier for companies to reopen safely.

We partnered with our client, Nashville-based architecture firm HASTINGS, to create Way Forward – a signage company focusing on the health and well-being of employees and customers. Our goal was to create signage that conveyed accurate health & safety recommendations, making them easy to understand, and designing them in a positive and beautiful way. The final result was a collection of signs that are minimalistic, brightly-colored, eye catching and directional.

We were hearing from multiple clients about the need for back-to-work signage. After recognizing that these signs would be more permanent than temporary, a survey of the market offered no intuitive, well-designed options that one wants to live with. We then decided to take matters into our own hands. With Way Forward Signage Co., our focus is as much on design integrity as it is on promoting optimism, while keeping public health safety information at the forefront.

A range of packages have been developed to suit different business sizes and needs. Packages range from $60 for the small essentials to $745 for the medium office. We will be donating a portion of the profits to Direct Relief, a non-profit organization committed to assisting the front line workers fighting COVID-19 and those who have been affected by the pandemic.

As of right now, Way Forward signage is only available in the United States though we are starting to get requests from Europe as well.
