Lucas Hesse at Base Window
Join us for the opening night of Energy in Motion by artist Lucas Hesse, the first Base Window exhibition of 2026. This opening marks the start of the exhibition, on view until 12 April 2026.
The exhibition brings together a series of short, looping animations that approach typography as a dynamic system rather than a fixed form. Letters align, stretch, fragment, and collapse according to precise temporal rhythms. Time becomes an active design material, shaping perception and meaning through movement and repetition.
Rather than prioritizing immediate readability, the works invite sustained attention, creating a physical, almost felt relationship between viewer and animated text.
RSVP here for the vernissage.

About Base Window
Base Window is not a gallery. Not a showroom. Not an art center.
Initiated by Base Design, Base Window is an independent exhibition space that blurs the lines between art, design, architecture, digital, and publishing. It exists as a site for experimentation, conversation, and work that doesn’t sit comfortably in a single category.
